Jamie Mather is steeped in the traditions of true American
music. Jamie is well-versed in the genres of rock-a-billy,
country, and string music and has played upright bass in
bands of those genres. Jamie used his current foray into
the vast world of “Trad” and gypsy jazz as a learning
experience and today plays better than ever! This is not
to say he lost his roots, however. Jamie brings a unique
perspective to the Red Skunk Jipzee Band by combining
his Chuck Berry, Hank Williams past with the phenomenal
jazz musicianship of his peers. Extensively implementing
in the pocket, walking bass lines with flashy slap technique.
